Christopher Hart - Drawing Cutting Edge Anatomy
Found this on my harddrive, I’m not sure if I downloaded the pdf as a joke or as legitimate help. But copy-pasting the same body for a woman is /not/ how you draw. I was scrolling through this with pretty good hopes that this was going to be a decent explanation of the comic medium in general and how anatomy can be pushed without falling into Esher girl territory.
Nope.
Take most “Lets draw design comic characters” books with a huuuge grain of salt.
God this is awful.
Not just for the obviously terrible dessign on female bodies, but for the male bodies as well. Fat guy = comedy relief OR villain. Period. Wtf…
Can you believe I actually had these handed out to me in two of my classes while I was in college taking illustration electives? I responded by making this character design for Reggie for one of them.

They were kind enough to point out different ways I could ‘fix’ her by making her more feminne. I think this was the only time I was actually pissed off by a critique.
Note: I have nothing against critique, I love getting it honestly. I do however have a problem with the idea that she would be ‘fixed’ or ‘better’ of a character by being prettier or ‘girlier’. She’s not supposed to be, that’s the point.
I was absolutely blown away by the response to the last batch, so I here’s the other half! I wanted to give a bit more info this time too. These are some assets for a game the company I work for will be releasing some time in April. It’s been a heck of an adventure, and an exciting one at that. I’ll release some more goodies when the game comes out for the iPad next month.

Edit: Also, I’d totally love to know if you guys have any favorites, I’m also up for questions if there are any!
