I just finished my sculpt of this viking based on this drawing by Nico Marlet. It’s from the Dreamworks ”Art of How To Train Your Dragon” book. I love all the character designs and concept drawings in it and I thought this one would make a good sculpture.
I wanted to try turning a 2D design into a 3D model so I made this guy out of Super Sculpey with a coat of grey primer. I’ll hopefully get around to doing a digital paint of it to see what it’d be like in colour.

I wanna do thiiiiiiis -
Despite all the things I post from Dojo, I’m employed as a UI designer. Most of the time I’m designing interfaces for medical applications (glucose monitors, mobile heart monitoring apps, etc), and while an interesting challenge- my mind tends to run away with me if I’m not careful because UI work can be pretty standard from time to time.
One of the things I do to combat this is doodling. Client meetings, over the phone check-ins, or just a 10 second thing at my desk. It’s like letting off steam, so I can focus again. Or I’ll just doodle idly as I listen. I know a bunch of folks who do it, mine just isn’t usually worth showing.
Why am I boring you with this narcissistic rambling? It’s part explanation and apology for what you see above. None of it is thought out or given any particular mind to composition since I’m focusing on other things, so the sketch just becomes purely selfish, aimless, brain diarrhea. Kepler has been on my mind the most recently it seems, so it’s her boney face that shows up in the margins of all my notes. I might be doing a neat project with her soon so I figured I’d actually scan in some of my doodles. These are probably the bulk of things worth showing from over the past couple months or so.

Kepler is my psyker from an awesome Dark Heresy game I get to play each Monday, based in the Warhammer 40k Universe. She willpower resists deamons and doesn’t afraid of anything. -
I haven’t installed any photo editing programs on this computer yet, so I guess this WIP will just have to be super dark until I get to work tomorrow.
